TIL that every social media app deliberately traps your visitors in a broken browser. And it's silently killing your conversions.

Been digging into why so many SaaS landing pages and creator funnels underperform on social traffic and found something that doesn't get talked about enough.

When someone taps a link from Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat or any social app, it doesn't open Safari or Chrome. It opens inside the app's own sandboxed browser. No saved passwords. No stored sessions. No autofill. No Apple Pay.

So your visitor lands on your signup page or pricing page, sees a login prompt or a form, has to type everything from scratch on mobile, and most just close the tab.

The click registered in your analytics. The drop off is invisible.

A few numbers I've observed across different use cases:
40-50% of social traffic lands in an in-app browser. Conversion rate from that traffic is 60-70% lower than native browser traffic. Simply detecting the in-app browser and redirecting to native before the page loads recovers most of it.

The fix is a deeplink. You detect the in-app browser via user agent and force open the native browser or app instead. 30 seconds to set up with the right tool.

Surprised this isn't discussed more in SaaS circles given how much traffic comes from social these days. Anyone else looked into the actual conversion impact on their own funnels?
