Run PageSpeed on your no-code app right now. The number is probably worse than you think and it is quietly costing you conversions.

Something I keep running into, and I think a lot of people here have never actually checked.

Go run Google PageSpeed Insights on your no-code app. Not your landing page, your actual product. The dashboard, the checkout, whatever screen your users spend time in.

Most no-code apps score somewhere between 30 and 50. Plenty score in the 20s. If you have never looked, there is a decent chance you are sitting at a number you would be unhappy to see.

Here is why it matters more than it sounds. The rough industry figure is around a 7 percent conversion penalty per additional second of load time. So an app at a 5 second load versus one at 1.4 seconds is not a slightly worse experience, it is a materially different conversion rate on the exact same traffic and the exact same product. You are paying for the users either way. You just convert fewer of them.

The uncomfortable part is that this is invisible. Nobody emails you to say your app felt sluggish so they did not subscribe. They just leave, and you never learn why, and you go looking for the problem in your copy or your pricing.

A few honest things I have learned about this.

It is not that no-code platforms are badly built. It is that they carry a lot of runtime overhead to give you the flexibility that makes them useful in the first place. That trade is completely worth it early. You shipped, you validated, you got users. That is not a mistake, that is the tool doing its job.

It only becomes a problem once traffic is real, because the cost of the trade scales with your users, and by then you are the one paying it.

You can claw back some of it inside the platform. Trim your workflows, cut the plugins you do not use, fix lazy searches, compress your images. Genuinely do all of that first, it is free and sometimes it is enough. If your score is in the 20s, some of that is self-inflicted and fixable where you are.

But there is a ceiling. Past a certain point the overhead is the platform, and no amount of optimisation gets you from 35 to 90, because the thing making it slow is the same thing that made it fast to build.

That is the actual decision point. Not a philosophical code-versus-no-code argument, just a number. If your app is slow and your traffic is real, the platform is now taking a cut of your revenue in the form of the conversions you never see.

Full disclosure since this sub is straight about it. This is what my company does. We rebuild no-code and AI-built apps into production code, and PageSpeed is usually the thing that makes the case obvious, we tend to take apps from the 30s into the 90s. So I am not neutral. But the exercise above is free and useful whether you ever talk to anyone like us or not, and honestly most people should just optimise where they are and get on with it.

Genuinely curious what people here score. Run it and post your number in the comments, platform and score, and I will tell you honestly whether it looks like something you can fix yourself or whether the platform is the ceiling. Happy to do that for free for anyone who posts, no strings.

What did you get?
