The Judd Hirsch in Independence Day Award for Best Performance in the Film

Just watched Independence Day for the first time and was just thinking as I watched it, Judd Hirsch is giving the best acting performance in the film.

I know it’s a pretty basic idea but I don’t think they’ve ever given award for who, no matter what the role, is giving the best performance in the film. It’s different to who won the movie as that takes into account prominence in the film, box office performance etc.

Similar awards are “Deion Waiters” award acknowledges the best heat check, and “one Oscar goes to” touches on this, but I thinks it should a pretty relevant bit of analysis for the pod to touch on - who is giving the best performance overall in the film….

Edit: I haven’t yet listened to the pod on Independence Day and also not asking people to agree on my Judd Hirsch, the concept of best performance
