how do I softlaunch du to my dad

so i had different plans earlier but rn I feel joining du (with a partial drop) makes sense. my mom's cool w it but my dad doesn't even know. he has no idea and he won't accept if me or my mom told him (he want me to take a full drop). we need a very passive approach. helpppp
