Activation Fee

I just signed up for the Simplicity plan about a week ago. Verizon advertises no activation fees and when I switched my service over I kept this in mind. A couple of days later my bill showed up in my app with a $40.00 activation fee. I was pretty annoyed because I didn’t feel like getting back on the phone with them after spending over three hours on the phone with them just trying to get my number ported over and resetting the eSIM. I went through the app support section and asked why I was charged the activation fee when they advertise that activation fees no longer exist with Verizon. To my surprise the AI bot immediately answered saying that the activation fee would be waived, and it was. What pissed me off tho and the reason I’m posting is bc I wonder how many customers they count on to not even pay attention and just pay the fee just happy with finding a cheaper plan that works for them. I consider this predatory even if you can call and get it waived bc that is not what they advertise. Just know this if you sign up to any of their plans.
