Similar to Hell House by Richard Matheson

I just finished Hell House and it is almost exactly what I am looking for in a horror book. I didn't love the over sexualization of the women and chalked it up to it being written in the 70's. Does anyone have any recommendations for books that are similar to Hell House but written more recently? I did just finish The September House but Carissa Orlando and loved it as well. Thanks!
