Hello, fellow gardeners!

For the second time, I received a message that moderators had removed my post in r/vegetablegardening . I thought the content would be helpful and of interest to the group but I'm not sure it will be seen. I'm sharing it again with this group. Since it's the summer harvesting season I thought it would be appropriate for that group as well but the video shows most of our garden, including our pollinator and ornamental beds.

My husband and I have been working hard to transform this property into a place we can enjoy for the rest of our lives. We're doing most of the work ourselves, and there is still so much to do. This time of year, the vegetable garden keeps us so busy that I don't spend much time posting on social media, but I wanted to share our progress.

One of our first priorities after moving here was building our raised vegetable garden. My husband, Simon, built all of the raised beds and installed drip irrigation because we love growing, harvesting, eating, preserving, and sharing organic vegetables.

We're also passionate about creating a pollinator-friendly garden and supporting local wildlife. Over the past few years, we've brought in soil, created new planting beds, and planted trees, shrubs, and perennials to add privacy, provide habitat, and create year-round beauty. Those plantings also help soften and partially screen the vegetable garden during the seasons when it isn't at its best.

The little cabin was already on the property, although "cabin" is probably a generous description! It actually began life as a child's playhouse. The previous owner, who lived here about 70 years ago, had it moved from her parents' home just down the road. It still needs plenty of repairs, and since we haven't built a proper garden shed yet, it's currently packed wall-to-wall with our gardening tools and supplies.

We're always working on one garden project or another, so I haven't been very active on Reddit lately. This video is simply an overview of where things stand this month. Simon captured the drone footage clips—we record our progress every so often so we can look back and see how much the property has changed.

I grow most of our vegetables from seed, and we keep something growing in the garden year-round here in Georgia. We're currently harvesting several varieties of tomatoes and Peppers, Okra, Eggplant, and Beets. It's gotten too hot for my lettuce, Kale, and cabbage, so I've been pulling those out to make room for more summer crops.

If you'd like to see more of our day-to-day gardening projects, harvests, and behind-the-scenes updates, I share them more frequently on Instagram (@GardenZeal) and also post them on the GardenZeal Facebook page. Thanks for following along!
