What is one small everyday thing about American life that you never realized was uniquely American?

I’ve been improving my English for a while now, and one thing I’ve noticed is that language is connected to so many small cultural habits.

I started with apps like memrise to build vocabulary, and lately I’ve been using praktika more for conversations. The funny thing is that the more I practice, the more I notice little things that don’t always translate directly.

For example, phrases people use casually, jokes, food traditions, or even the way people make small talk can be completely different from what I’m used to.

It made me curious about the things Americans do every day that feel totally normal to them but might seem unusual to someone from another country.

What is one small American habit, tradition, phrase, or routine that you think foreigners would find interesting or surprising?
