Looking for an older European thriller/action movie (probably early 2000s)
I’m trying to find a movie I watched years ago, but I can’t remember the title.
What I remember:
- It was probably a European movie (maybe French or Belgian).
- The movie had a very dark, serious atmosphere, similar to French crime thrillers like 36 Quai des Orfèvres.
- Probably from the early/mid 2000s.
- The main character was a slim man, not a typical Hollywood action star.
- The story involved a kidnapping: a woman and a young girl were being held hostage.
- The main character arranges a meeting with the kidnappers and goes alone to their location.
- The location was like a club/bar or warehouse-style building with several rooms, all on one floor.
- There were several kidnappers (around 4 or more).
- The kidnappers wore black clothing and black ski masks/balaclavas, so their faces were hidden.
- Some of them had shotguns/pump-action shotguns.
- They may have been corrupt police officers or officials, not just ordinary criminals.
- The main character fights them alone, gets injured, but kills them all.
- After the fight, he removes the ski masks from the dead men and looks at their faces, as if he recognizes some of them.
- He then rescues the woman and the girl.
The movie felt like a dark European crime thriller, realistic and violent, not a typical Hollywood action movie.
