Someone needs to say this... Why do some Desis on this sub assume their bad family experience reflects all of us, and blame it all on 'culture'?
I swear, just because your family treated you like sh*t doesn't mean every Desi family is the same. We're not some f*cking hive mind.
Why do some people on this sub act like their personal trauma is the universal Desi experience? Yes, there are real problems in parts of our community toxic parenting, excessive pressure, emotional blackmail, etc. But not every Desi household is toxic, controlling, or emotionally abusive. STOP acting as if we all are like one! There are plenty of supportive, loving, and functional Desi families.
If you can’t accept that and keep turning your individual experience into “this is Desi culture”, seriously get help. At this point you're just a self-hating Desi your goal is just to vent your hatred on Desis.
Stop generalizing millions of people based on your bad experiences and blaming it all on “Desi culture.” We can talk about real issues without painting every Desi parent and family with the same toxic brush.
