Did anyone receive a purchase email without ever getting a reservation/waitlist email?

My partner and I both signed up for a machine separately and got waitlisted, and then yesterday my partner got a purchase email. Being in the US, I know there’s an almost zero chance of being moved off the waitlist at this time, so I thought maybe he had gotten reserved and had misread it. However we looked back through all his emails and trash and couldn’t find any notification of either a reservation or waitlist. Just the email confirming when he joined the lottery and then an email for purchase. We are thinking he had seen the lottery confirmation and thought it was a waitlist email?

Anyway, very happy surprise! But have no clue where the actual email went lol
