E-PL2 in the year 2026

Question

I haven't had a DSLR in a long while and I've been looking for a very compact micro-4/3rds (esp since I have some old regular 4/3 telephoto lenses that I could use with an adapter). Did some research nearly a year ago and was pretty set on getting an old E-PL2 as a budget option, but didn't have the time or money until now. Is it crazy to go for it over newer cameras? My criteria, in pri order:

  • Under $300 - I am no professional, I barely know how to use the settings, I just want something with a better sensor/capturing more light than my smartphone
  • Solid body/parts - ideally metal body and some solid buttons or click wheel, want to hold on to the same camera for a long while
  • Small/light - would be nice to carry it around on walks just in case I spot something, maybe not every day but every weekend or so
  • Not internet connected/too many options - don't really need wifi, or video, not a fan of touchscreens
  • optical viewfinder - the one thing the e-pl2 fails at, and it unfortunately seems like an external viewfinder is very expensive. maybe there's a cheap 3rd party solution?

EDIT 1: if I do go with E-PL2, does ~$220 with shipping for a near mint full kit seem like a good price?

EDIT 2: reading good things about the EM 1.2 also... but having trouble finding the body for cheaper than $500 :(((
