Small divine aspects rant post realm war arc
I was going to comment this on a post I saw a while back about Divine Aspects ruining the power scaling, but I couldn’t find it again, so I’ll just post it here.
One of the main arguments was that Divine Aspect holders are way too strong compared to everyone else. Things like Sunny fighting 13 Saints, Nephis taking on 7, or them being able to challenge opponents that should realistically be far above them. The post argued that it broke the established power scaling.
But I think there’s one thing people tend to overlook Divine Aspect holders have MULTIPLE cores.
Instead of thinking of Sunny and Nephis as “just Saints” it makes more sense to think of them the same way we think about Nightmare Creatures. A Great Beast and a Great Titan are both Great Rank, but no one expects them to be anywhere near the same level because one has multiple cores.
That’s essentially what Divine Aspects do. They’re not just a stronger version of a normal Aspectthey’re fundamentally operating on a different level. Multiple cores massively increase their essence, endurance, and overall combat potential. So comparing a Divine Saint to a normal Saint isn’t really a fair comparison in the first place.
Once you look at it that way, feats like Sunny fighting 13 Saints or Nephis taking on 7 don’t really feel like they break the power scaling. They’re exactly the kind of gap you’d expect if they’re effectively the “Titan” equivalent among humans.
And if you have a problem with that I think your just out of luck because the entire story has been written around plot of them having these aspects.
