I want to travel to Chongqing next winter break with a college friend or two to see the Yuzhung district. What should I know?

Part of this post is asking for a reality check. Is it really all that good for tourism? I see Instagram posts all the time and I don’t know if it’s like paid advertising from tourist departments or something. It seems really cool and I love the tech/ neon lights atmosphere an I’m really excited to meet the ‘salarymen’ in bars, restaurants etc (I’m not sure if that’s derogatory or not) because all these posts make it like it’s super easy and welcoming, and we’re all extroverted people so we’re excited. That’s one of the main reasons we want to go.
