2024 S w/ 71k mi worth it? $17k

Looking for a vehicle for our 16 year old.

Primary search has been HRVs but have started to look at the Taos.

There is one locally with 71k miles. Test drove it, seems fine on the short drive I gave it. But don't really know much about this car other than initial Google searches saying head gasket issues through at least 23. Maybe better in 24 on?
