Politics in superhero movies almost always sucks
Politics shoehorned into superhero movies is almost always tiresome, because it's never nuanced, it's never about understanding the other side. It's literally just "haha, whoever disagrees with me is a supervillain! Take that, people who disagree with me!" Politics is rarely this black and white.
There are some who do it right. Like Avatar: The Last Airbender. The fire lord is a dickhead, but most everybody else are just people who bought into politics one way or the other. Korra did it good too, with the grandma still loyal to monarchy.
But for the most part, it's stupid. "Let's have Israel vs Palestine, except Israel is bought out by Lex Luthor! I'm so clever!" Subtlety of a sledgehammer and zero nuance. Just "my side good, your side bad, durr hurr"
The fans are even worse. "Superman is on my side!" Ok, yeah. You realize you sound like a fuckin 12 year old right now by saying Superman supports you.
"Oh, but it's always been like, even in the 60s..." ok. And? I guess it sucked back then,
