Marriage advice
How can I move on from something that my husband doesn’t change from. I’ve been alone for a long time emotionally no support he doesn’t understand and is not a good communicator. I am an overthinker and need a lot of support. The problem is he is a good man he is a good father and helps around the house and a provider. I believe I still love him because I am still here hoping one day he’ll change. I think it’s the hope that is helping me stay here. This week I’m on my period and wow my patience with him is uncontrollable. I am a 36f and he is a 36m , we’ve been together for 16 years. I am happy and then I have deep resentment towards him. I feel like I am carrying the emotionally weight of the entire house. I feel like he doesn’t think I have to think for everything. I want to relax my mind and have nothing worry about. I don’t understand why I don’t let go of what we have. We do have three kids. I am strong believer and married through the Catholic Church. So it’s so hard and make such a difficult decision. I’m not working right now because that was the decision we made almost two years ago for our kids. I have a family a lovely home my kids are healthy. He’s a “good man” but I don’t think he’s a good husband. We’ve had multiple issues in the past that I should’ve left a long time ago but I never did because our history together. I’m scared to leave now and regret it later because I hear all these stories about the dating world now. And I know I have good provider man. But I don’t think he makes me happy I have a lot of resentment and I get easily anger by the most simple things. I feel alone and I just for once want to feel heard and seen and loved correctly and someone to talk to me. I have to beg him to speak to me about things and then he says for what that if he speaks then I just get mad. He always says we are so different ways of thinking that it’s just hard to get through each other I am a very sensitive girl and he’s non chalent and things don’t get to him. I need a lot of reassurance and he’s an avoidant.
I just want to leave but then that means I have to start over with my life. What if I make the wrong decision of my entire life?
I did lose my brother about a year ago. I think I might be depressed too my energy for bullshit has been very low and I don’t have time any funk. I’ve changed a lot but even before I did feel this way he thinks by him ding things for me makes up for the emotional part of the relationship I feel like we are more like team mates more than anything.
Has anyone gone thru similar things? If so what was your outcome?
