Would you rather cure all physical illness or all mental illness? (Read the description for details)

You find an alien device that can produce one formula for a universal cure to either all physical illness or all mental illness. Once it produces the formula, it is automatically distributed worldwide for free. The alien device then self destructs and can never be repaired.

Physical illness includes all viruses, bacteria and any other diseases or conditions that are either contagious, acquired or hereditary. Anything from the Flu to Ebola, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, drug addiction and alcoholism, HIV/AIDS, all forms of cancer, allergies, STIs, Malaria, Parkinson's, MS, ALS, COVID, etc.

Nobody would die from any such diseases or conditions ever again. People wouldn't be immortal, though. You could still die in a car accident or from a gunshot wound, etc. This would have the effect of people living much, much longer, so that's something to consider.

Mental illness includes anything like depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's and dementia, PTSD, phobias, psychological addictions, etc. Anything related to mental health and brain chemistry would be instantly cured. No more school shootings or abusive spouses. No more rape, pedophilia, or serial killers.
