Husband no longer looks at me in the eyes in missionary
Briefly, here is the situation:
- We are a long term couple, 20+ years
- Monogamous for 15 years
- We have a solid, very active sex life - 6x a week, whenever we feel like it
- I'm a top, he's a bottom
- He's a recovered sex addict with a ridiculously high body count
- Used to be able to cum in missionary, never a problem, and look me in the eyes
- He's faded from that and no longer cums on his back when I'm fucking him
- Can't/doesn't look at me when he cums
- He's had thousands of partners - he had a problem and has been successful in recovery for 5+ years
- He's looked in the eyes of plenty of others, and cum, yet now it's a big deal if he can/does
- We talk about it, he admits it, can't say why, and understands its an issue
- We are adults, and have approached this openly and being clear about boundaries, vulnerabilities, insecurities, etc., so be kind with responses
A narrative I have for this situation, is that when he closes his eyes, one of the many others are in his mind. He used to be able to do it, but now can't.
I'm willing to open the relationship up and see if this happens with others. Not the best choice but an option.
Maybe it's because he is older now. Even so, it's not as if it's a complex and uncomfortable sexual position, it's just lying on your back. He admits that he can't now, but does not know why.
In responses, realize that we talk about this, openly and without emotion. I can't help but take it personally, as if he can't look at me anymore - at least during cumming. Thanks for any constructive, helpful thoughts on this.
