The Human And The Baby Fox

The human was careless

He was reckless

You see, he had it all

But he let himself fall

His life filled with hate

His dreams mired in pain

But one night

Under the blue moonlight

The human dreamt again

Fate guiding him through the torment within

Now in this dream the human was transformed

Little did he know in the end how much more

For he give his own life away

To save himself from the clouds and rain

Only to learn how to love thyself again

You see, the human became a fox

But he could not bring to bear, this thought

Now it was in the Winter and he was alone

And the fox couldn't find his home

He was cold and the hard snow enveloped his fur

He became frightened that the storm would yet come worse

Before he laid down to sleep curled up for eternal rest

The fox's heart became warmer as he confessed

"I'd give all this pain away, if I could only just come home"

And the shivering fox's eyes closed

Eternal rest, eternal peace, eternal light

But the fox awoke to quite a fright

For an avalanche had swept through the valley

Bringing forth an eerie silence and a sense of finality

Astonished, the fox thought he had died in his frozen tomb

But a new life had just been born of another womb

On the other side, across the icy river

A helpless and beautiful baby fox, had the holy spirit delivered

Yet miraculously, out of the snow emerged the human fox, reborn in his old form

Given new life, given new breath, and reprieve from the storm

He braved the frigid waters of the river to swim across

To save the newborn and precious baby fox

As he held the tiny creature in his arms

He gave to it all his warmth for it was cold and meek

He placed a loving kiss along the side of the baby's cheek

The human was given a second chance

And in this rebirth he was offered comfort and solace

For he had learned to love the baby Fox as he loved himself

And the frost of his own endless Winter finally began to melt
