AITA for BINNING my friends gifts?
Apparently this is a controversial take but me and my friend (both 18F) hav known each other for two years come september. for my birthday in august 2025 she gave me a good gift and included a receipt which i think was lovely. i ended up liking the gift anyways and never thought of exchanging it.
During her birthday I gifted her a prestigious makeup set from a brand I know she loves but isnt very accessible in our country (its the chinese brand flower knows) I also made her a gorgeous heart card ill try to attach.
During christmas I gifted her a cute sanrio authentic keychain that i knew she liked cus id asked her beforehand.
Come christmas, she gifts me a handmade mirror which was basically just an old cosmetic mirror wiyh pipeclesners roughtly glued to it, an it looks like it took 5 minutes to put together, and a croched book case. I kept the bookcase because it was decent but i got rid of the mirror because it kinda just triggered me? i get triggered by imperfections a lot (ive been referred to assess for neurodivergence recently).
Im not sure if this is coming off as transactional but I just believe that especially since weve had many conversations about gifts an love languages where ive told her my preferences and shed told me hers, shed know i dont like certain gifts. moreover she did definitely know what i wanted cus she hinted at getting me a book id been inlove with but then never did. (money isnt an issue for either of us were both pretty well off, her moreso than me.)
AITA for binning some of her gifts?
