Rapidly Cycling Between Hot Flashes and Cold
Hi fellow sufferers! π π I'm dealing with hypothyroidism and perimenopause and seeking advice (please ignore the "Labs" part of the tag). Here's an overview of the issue:
My levothyroxine was raised to .075 a couple months ago because .025 wasn't getting me back to normal levels. As of approximately a month ago, maybe slightly less, I've been rapidly cycling between hot flashes and cold (because I'm all sweaty and the hot flash has run its course). I still sometimes sleep for long periods of time but now usually struggle to fall asleep, which has totally messed up my sleep schedule. This has all deeply impaired my quality of life.
Here's what I'm doing now and will be doing:
-I use a neck fan, I lower the thermostat at night, I run a fan by my bed, and I sleep in minimal clothing, but the hot flashes still keep me up.
-I'll be getting my levels checked again soon (they're checked every three months).
-I'm going to contact an endocrinologist because I'd like to discuss HRT and GLP-1s, and that's a lot of hormones for a non-hormone-specialized physician to manage.
Until those last two things happen, does anyone have any advice on what else I can do or how they've handled similar situations? Thank you for any thoughts you share π
