Help with old Protectall lockbox

Hi folks,

I'm hoping someone can lend a hand with this. My aunt gave me this old box that was in my deceased uncle's workshop, hoping I could open it up. It looks like someone may have already tried, because the bottom panel is held on by screws, but under those screws is just the concrete fire-rating material, and you can't get into the interior without cutting through it. I don't really want to mangle this to get it open, because it's kind of a cool old box, so if anyone has suggestions on how to pop it open without destroying it, we would appreciate an assist!
