It would’ve been nice to have a man that was more intelligent than me

I am by no means the smartest, my IQ is only a bit above average. My partner is less smart than me and we struggle to have intelligent, thought provoking conversations. He doesn’t think as much, he doesn’t care about educating himself, and is mainly interested in base level hobbies/topics. We have discussed this together and we agreed.

The relationship isn’t as strong as it used to be due to other factors. I guess that’s why I yearn more now for the idea of having been with someone who I could have listened to talk. I like learning, educating myself, being the dumber one.

We discussed sending our baby to private school in the future as we could arrange the funds, and he said that he would rather the child go to state school and live the same life he did (with no educational pushing) than go to private. The reasoning he gave was that he wanted the child to stay humble. (?) I didn’t go to a private school myself but it would be nice to help further my child as much as possible.

I know it’s mean. I just wish he had the same yearning for knowledge. It’s why I come here to talk to people who are knowledgeable and have that thirst.
