Heavy duty cat collar for outdoor cat?

I adopted an outdoor not to long ago and put a breakaway collar from Petco on him a few weeks ago. I’m not sure if him scratching at it is making it come apart or it’s the outside environment. Are there any heavy duty collars for cats that will hold up?
