Advice for someone trying to break into grooming

Hello, I am from the NYC area and just looking for any advice at all as I start applying for bathing positions to start off. I grew up with and cared for dogs of all sizes since childhood. For the last year or so I have done pet sitting gigs here and there, and for the last 7 months I volunteer with an organization that sends people to walk dogs for free for clients who have developed mobility issues. The experience I do have in sitting is admittedly spotty, and I only have one client I volunteer for. Does this seem like enough to begin applying for bathing positions? I’m also looking into getting the Pet Emergency Education CPR & First Aid certificate soon. Does getting the certificate before entering the industry seem like it could give me a leg up? Again, any type of reply would be much appreciated!
