Concerns about 2026 EV6 IIHS rear passenger restraint POOR score
We are just about to purchase an EV6, but when researching safety ratings at NHTSA and IIHS we were disappointed and surprised to see that in the IIHS “moderate overlap front: updated test” the EV6 received a Marginal score because it got a Poor score for rear passenger restraints. The Poor score is because “the shoulder belt moved too far upward toward the dummy’s neck” and “lap belt moved from the ideal position on the pelvis onto the abdomen, increasing the risk of abdominal injuries.” However, the rear passenger injury measures for head/neck, chest, and thigh all scored Good. This seems like a disconnect and as a result is confusing. I’d appreciate your thoughts and comments.
Has this issue been discussed before in r/KiaEV6?
Thanks!
