[Discussion] California Girls by Future
I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this song from "The Real Me" specifically. I'm kinda expecting some people to think it's generic or doesn't stand out, which I can understand. To ME, if I had to pick a single standout track from the album, it would 100% be this. I can't exactly say why, but this has been on repeat for me. One of my favorite future songs right now, but there's some recency bias. It's definitely modern, lowkey, simple, possibly even derivative. It's not boundary-pushing or a "typical future song," but something about it really connects with me. The lyrics aren't sad but it feels so sad, kind of like what Andre was saying. Might get told off for having bad taste but I want to know if anyone agrees!
