2014 Germany > 2010 Spain. Am I the only one who thinks this?
I know 2010 Spain gets brought up as one of the greatest international teams ever, and I get why. They controlled games better than maybe anyone.
But I've always felt like 2014 Germany was the better overall World Cup team.
They looked more complete to me. They could dominate possession when they wanted, but they were also way more direct and ruthless in transition. They scored a lot more goals, had depth all over the pitch, and the 7-1 against Brazil is still one of the craziest performances I've ever seen in a World Cup.
Spain felt almost impossible to break down. Germany felt like they could beat you in multiple different ways.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but if I had to pick one team for a single tournament run, I'd take 2014 Germany. Anyone else agree?
