Does anyone know of a book about a homeless orphan during the Great Depression? (Not This tender land).

Genre fiction

My grandfather lost his mother and was abandoned by his father in 1929 when he was 8. He lived on the streets of Philadelphia homeless until he was able to sustain himself.

I just wanted to find a book from that perspective as close as I could. So I’d prefer a book about a homeless child during the Great Depression. I prefer that it’s set in a city and that it’s as historically accurate as possible.

I’m also open to nonfiction about the real life experiences of orphans during the Great Depression or a book about Philadelphia during the Great Depression.

Thank you so much!!!
