How long did you wait for your foreign driver's license conversion in Berlin?

I applied for the conversion of my Georgian driver's license in Berlin (LABO) on 18 May 2026.

I was told the processing time would be 5–8 weeks, but after 8 weeks I called and was told to wait another 4–8 weeks.

I also learned that LABO usually sends a verification request to the issuing country (Georgia). I checked with the Georgian authorities, and they confirmed that they have not received any request from Germany yet.

Is this normal? How long did you have to wait before LABO contacted your country or approved your application?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience, especially if you converted a non-EU driver's license in Berlin.
