This trip had been longer than necessary due to the winter storm and endless traffic jams. It seemed that every hotel we tried to book had already met capacity with those who gave up faster. We were running on fumes by the time we made it to the hotel room. When the red bull wasn’t cutting it, we decided we’d take the only room that was left in this small town.

It’s not ideal but I can’t drive anymore and the country roads have been excruciating for you. Heavily engorged breasts have throbbed with every bump and brake engagement for the last few hours. The hotel vacancy sign was a blessing as you’d finally get to relieve some of the pressure that you’ve felt all day in a room of your own; or so you thought.

This room offered only a queen size bed to split between the two of us. This was a honeymoon suite and offered little in the sense of privacy. I crawled into bed immediately after setting down our bags and was out before you were done changing. The soft sound of my rhythmic breathing filled the space around the bed.
