Timmy in yokai watch 2

Whenever I battle dimmy in yokai watch 2, once I befriend a bony version, the next time I battle him he becomes fleshy. is this a glitch or intentional? because the other rare fleshy yokai dont always appear.

Ive wondered for years now, and I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else
