Formicarium Dream

I am waiting for my first formicarium set up and first colony of Lasius Brevicornus to be delivered but I’m dreaming of (way in the future) having an outworld set up at the end of a several foot long tube on a side table that the ants can explore. Would they travel over 10 feet of tube? Would they take food back to their colony for that outworld? I’ll of course have their main outworld very close but I just love the idea of having an outworld on a side table next to my couch
