How do I come out as a Social Democrat to my family?

I’ve had social democrat views for a while now. My family is mostly conservative and thinks any such changes from the Republican Party is somehow communist or socialist. I find that ridiculous but don’t really voice my own opinions on the matter. I want strong safety nets, universal healthcare, worker’s protections and many other things. We are basically in a second gilded age and my family doesn’t seem to care much. I don’t seem to like Trump but still like him anyway for some reason and continue to vote for him. They somehow event supported the Iran war and brutal crackdowns by ice. I think they largely just get their views from Fox News which I don’t understand because they just spew propaganda. These are very intelligent people so I don’t get why they fall for such things. I honestly don’t think I should tell them I’m a social democrat. The red scare has done a number to people.
