Why is your loader's dying wish to unload the gun?

"Hanz I've been shot I'll just lay down this round almost loaded into the breech for you to do it and for some reason you do it slower than me even though the process is exactly the same"

Like I mean duuuude, if the reload isn't at the stage where the round isn't in the breech sure the reload should reset but like if your reload is like 3/4 done it makes no sense for the reload to be reset and even longer despite there being no difference in the loading process because the new loader can do something called 'walk around to the old loader's position and do the exact same process except its a different dude'.
