Is Japan also in the golden age of craft beer?

Planning a trip to Japan but haven't been there since 2008. I'm curious if Japan has experienced a similar surge in microbreweries/craft beer over the last 15 years like the West. If I go to a bar in Osaka, will there be hyperlocal / multi-flavour beers to try? Or is it still just Asahi, Kirin or Sapporo? Thanks!
