In 1948, Israel forcibly displaced 750,000 Palestinians and destroyed 531 villages during the Nakba. The village of Ein Hawd was of the few left standing whilst Palestinian residents were expelled, Ein Hawd’s homes, mosques and streets were preserved and repurposed as an Israeli artists’ colony
