guide to rideshare drop off at mercedes-benz stadium for the world cup
hey guys, figured id share what i found out about getting to the world cup matches at mercedes-benz stadium. if you want to avoid the absolute nightmare of rideshare zones and crazy surge pricing, honestly your best bet is using prked first. it is an app where you can rent driveways and private garage spots from locals nearby. it is way cheaper, you get to skip the massive post-game rideshare lines, and it feels a lot safer since a real person is looking after your car on their property.
but if you are definitely taking an uber or lyft to the matches, there are two main designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up zones set up specifically for the tournament.
the first main zone is located in south downtown along broad street between trinity avenue and mitchell street. this area is about a half mile walk and is best if you need to head toward entrances e, f, or g of the stadium.
the second official zone is set up along northside drive at the gwcc bus lane c. this spot is going to be the closest option if your tickets are for entrances a, b, or c.
if you need accessible drop-off or pick-up, they have designated spots for that as well. you can use the gwcc bus lane c on the west side of the stadium, or the transportation terminal right by entrance e on the east side where staff will be on-site to help you out.
just keep in mind that traffic around the stadium is going to be completely locked up, and regular rideshares will not be allowed to drop you off right at the gates outside of these designated zones. if you are doing rideshare after the game, try walking a few blocks away toward downtown before requesting a ride to avoid the worst of the surge pricing.
hope this helps you guys plan your trip to the games.
