Escaping the Heat in France - A Cool Coastal Walk on the Sentier des Douaniers (Pink Granite Coast, Brittany)
With temperatures hitting uncomfortable levels across much of France, I headed to Brittany to cool down and the difference was just incredible - from 38-39° in the central plains to just 21-22° in Perros-Guirec. The Pink Granite Coast stays breezy even during heatwaves, and the Sentier des Douaniers offers a long, shaded, ocean‑side walk with constant Atlantic wind.
If anyone in France is looking for a way to escape the heat without going far, this part of Brittany is one of the most refreshing and at the same time picturesque places I’ve found. I filmed the full coastal walk in 4K for anyone curious about the area or considering a cooler getaway. Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/NtGo_5JMhRc?si=JXX_2AsdmsOPtsoy
Happy to share tips about the trail or other cool spots along the Breton coast.
