why are the other spawn locations considered harder?

i kinda feel like since i know how to play the game i always have to spawn in the desert or the forrest due to the fact its labeled as for higher skilled players but i feel like it is too boring in the dessert and its not like stuff is harder to find there if anything its a bit easier finding pure nodes for stuff like iron so i odnt get why they are chosen as the harder levels?
