Applying to universities in Korea as an older student

Education

(American)
So basically, I graduated high school in 2021 and went right into university when I freshly turned 18, as one does. I struggled a lot with mental health and such (covid didn’t help) and decided after a year that it would be better to move away, live alone while working and figure out what I want to do instead of wasting money on tuition. I eventually came to Korea last August to study Korean at a language school and I really love it here, and I decided I would like to stay and get my bachelor’s while living in Korea. However I’m wondering if that’s viable. I’ve been looking into Sejong uni (where I’m studying Korean rn) or Kyunghee and I most likely want to major in international studies. The only problem is I don’t have the highest high school GPA in the world (3.1 lol, I also struggled with mental health at that time) but my ACT test scores and such are very good (32). However I do have quite a bit of life experience as someone who is 22 compared to an 18 year old typical freshman, so I’m curious if universities will take my circumstances into account or if this is all only a detriment. I totally understand my situation is not typical so if anyone has gone through anything similar, I’m curious about your experience. I plan on taking TOPIK soon as well and expect to get 3 or 4. Thank you all for any insight!
