TFTSense

I spent 6 months building a TFT coach that reads your screen and tells you what to do round by round. Here is everything it does now.

Hey everyone. Solo dev here. For the past half year I have been building TFTSense, a Windows overlay that coaches you while you play, and it has grown into a much bigger tool than I originally planned. I want to lay out what it actually does, how it works, and where it falls short, because this sub gives the most honest feedback anywhere.

TFTSense - Live Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Coach Overlay

How it works, because this always comes up first: it reads your screen with computer vision. It looks at the same pixels you see, on your own screen only. It never reads game memory, never injects into the game process, never simulates input, and never shows you anything about opponents you could not scout yourself. That constraint shaped the whole design.

What it does in game right now:

- Suggests a comp for the board you actually have, and follows your board as it evolves instead of forcing a cookie cutter. If you commit to an off-meta line it respects that and coaches the line you are playing.

- Marks every unit in your shop as BUY, SKIP, or CONSIDER, each with the reason on hover. Openers are labeled as openers so a transitional unit never reads as core. If you are missing a core unit, it flags shop units that can hold its items as substitutes and remembers which sub is holding which slot for the rest of the game.

- Watches your gold and coaches econ: interest breakpoints, streak protection, when a roll is fine and when it is burning value. We recently ran our coaching engine through thousands of simulated games against real high-elo lobbies, and econ discipline measured out as the single biggest placement lever, worth about a full place per game, so this panel now sits at the top of the coach.

- Item advice with the recipes inline: what to slam now, what to save, which comp unit the item belongs on. It only recommends builds for units you can actually act on.

- A per-level board plan for the comp you are on, so you know what your board should look like at 6, 7, 8, with drag-to-reorder progression in the builder.

- An augment panel with tier guidance during picks.

- A team builder panel: plan the champions you want, set star goals, and the shop marks planned units with a badge. Your plan survives between games.

- Notes, a comp browser with curated and personal comps, and an AI chat coach you can ask questions mid game.

Out of game: a personal analytics page that finds leaks in your own play (econ leaks, level pacing, death spots), and the site has a comps library and tier list rebuilt from fresh high-elo match data every week.

Honest limitations, so nobody has to dig for them: Windows only. TFT only. Computer vision means the occasional misread on weird resolutions, though 1080p and 1440p are solid. It is a paid tool with a small dev behind it, not a free platform backed by a big company. And no, it will not see your opponents' boards for you, by design.

I use it in my own ranked games every day and our tester community on Discord has shaped basically every feature above, several of which exist because one specific person complained until they were right.

Happy to answer anything about how the CV works, what the simulation testing found (some of it genuinely surprised me, like how badly panic-pivoting off contested comps measures out), or where the roadmap goes next. And if you think something on the list is a bad idea, tell me why, that feedback is the reason half of it works.
