New seven deadly sins in the 21st century
Ambition, Idealism, Idoltary, Sensual Spirituality, Greed and Lust.
These are the sins I find most prevalent in myself and observed in other brothers and sisters in this day and age. I have little theological backing to the concept of "seven deadly sins" in the scripture. This was just a fun idea for people who struggle with sin and unknowingly struggle with something we all deal with. Ambition is something that's reserved for leadership but can easily turn into rebellion. Idealism causes a spiritual life that's gnostic and not physical (extreme asceticism). Idoltary, the worship of idols and Gods, is something we deal with ourselves and worshipping social media influencers. Sensual Spirituality is something I got from Father Spyridon on YouTube, his brief definition is that sensual spirituality leads to the religion of the Antichrist. Greed is something we chase and a sin that develops in the most industrial and capitalist world when we prioritize wealth and monetary value over life, liberty perhaps God too. Lust is common and something we all deal with.
