Something that people freak out about that you didn't expect?

What is something that you've seen people freak out about (or read: have very strong negative opinions about) that you really didn't think anyone would feel that way?

And I don't mean things like ship wars or anti behavior, we all know about that😉

So here's mine for example:

Lowercase fics. I never liked them because it's hard to read for me, but I asked around why people do it, and had some nice conversations about style and flow and different fics.

But then also had a bunch (really surprised by how many!) people jump in to say how much they hate it, how stupid it is, and their unasked for opinions on why someone else does what they do😅 People would say "authors who do that are lazy" or "authors who do that are stupid children". Or "they can't be bothered to make good work".

And talking to those people was... not a good idea. I was just asking people who make lowercase, and then I had a comment section full of people insulting the ones I was asking! (Who were all just very nicely talking to me about it). When I said it wasn't because of being lazy or stupid or whatever, people got mad at me😅Like, really mad.

So yeah. That was a shock😂. I did not realize that a stylistic choice could create such hate in so many people. I get not liking it, I don't either. But damn.
