The trust problem was not the number. It was the correction path.
I am building a finance app, and I kept asking testers whether the headline number was accurate. The useful feedback kept landing somewhere else:
- show which inputs produced it
- explain what changed since last time
- let someone fix a wrong bill or timing assumption fast
That changed the test from "is this right?" to "can you explain and correct it in under 30 seconds?"
For products that generate a score or recommendation, what correction path made users trust the next result?
