Is there anything that feels like a tiny win about the disorder for you?

Lighthearted

I want to start by saying that I am in no way trying to downplay the hardship that this illness causes all of us, I just want to engage in light hearted discussion about some "perks" that you may personally experience, if they exist at all. These are in no way making up for all of the downsides, and I'd trade them in a heart beat if I could have normal collagen, as I assume we all would. Still though, I am thankful for a couple small, silly things.

I never have to worry about my salt intake. I am a salt junky, I love salty snacks much more than sweet and not having to worry about sodium intake due to POTS is neat. If anything on an average day I need more salt than I'm getting, but being able to eat my French fries, instant noodles, pizza, and potato chips without stressing about high blood pressure is kinda nice.

I've never twisted or sprained my ankles. My ankles are flexible enough that even falling on a twist has not resulted in an injury for me. My ankles cause plenty of other issues but in this tiny thing I'm grateful for since I like hiking when I'm able and it has a lot of uneven ground.

I do like that I scar easily for some very specific things. This isn't for every scar I get, but I have a lot of scars from sentimental events that I can now look at and remember fondly. I have one from the first time my mom let me help her cook (potato peeler incident at 4), the first time I went to a gamenight with my now best friends in the world (fell during a nerf battle) one from a daddy-daughter camping trip when I was 9, one from the day my ex boyfriend (but still good friend) and I started dating. Its a bit like when Mater in Cars 2 says his dents are memories, I'm dented too.

These are all relatively small but I think they're kinda fun for what its worth. Does any one else have small things they like about how their body functions differently?
