Any Successful Drop-Year IPMAT Aspirants Here? I Could Really Use Some Guidance.
Hi everyone,
I’m currently on a drop year, preparing for IPMAT, and I wanted to reach out to people who’ve been in a similar situation.
To be honest, some days I feel motivated and confident, and on other days I question whether taking a drop was the right decision. Watching friends start college while I’m preparing again can be difficult at times.
I chose this path because I genuinely want to give myself another chance and work towards getting into an IPM program. I know the journey won’t be easy, but I’m determined to make this year count.
If you’ve taken a drop for IPMAT (or even for another competitive exam), I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.
How did you stay consistent on days when you didn’t feel motivated?
Did you ever feel like you were falling behind your peers?
What helped you push through self-doubt?
Looking back, was taking a drop worth it?
If you could give one piece of advice to someone in my position, what would it be?
I’m not looking for false reassurance—I just want to hear honest experiences from people who’ve been through something similar.
Thank you for reading, and I hope this post also helps other drop-year aspirants who might be feeling the same way.
