Playing final fantasy X after the original Final Fantasy 7 is frustrating

How is it that a game that is newer and should be improving upon older games so much more frustrating

I 100%d FF7 and it was awesome to play through and collect everything while learning about the world there

Trying to do the same with FFX is frustrating, the mini games that they’ve designed seem like they weren’t tested at all like the lightning dodges and the heat seeking missile birds in the chocobo races. People will say “oh you don’t have to do these things” but that seems like an excuse like “yeah we know it’s bad but if you ignore it it’s fine”.

I’m just trying to get the total experience and it’s just been tedious
