Can we talk about the novels

Admittedly, I had never read any of the novels the GLs were based on, but with Pls Love coming, I decided to give it a try. The writing style was bad, as if by a teenager, but at the very least the plot itself wasn’t terrible. I decided to read another just to see if it was that author or a larger issue, so I read Buy My Boss. Absolutely horrendous writing, and storytelling all around. It jumped so much, left so many things out, dragged in places, and rushed in others, threw things in that didn’t make sense. Horrible. Reading these novels I now have a better understanding of why some of the shows are the way they are. I think the source material itself is very lacking and would need a miracle rework to be decent. After reading Buy My Boss, I genuinely can’t imagine someone being able to work a good enough miracle to make that show decent.
